Jungle ATV Ride to Macal River is a beginners’ tour offering an extreme, off the beaten path way to explore our local Flora & Fauna with a refreshing dip at the Macal River.
Starts: 9:00AM Ends: 12:00PM (morning session)
Starts: 1:00AM Ends: 4:00PM (Afternoon session)
Getting There: Your adventure begins as you’re picked up from your hotel in San Ignacio and begin on a short 15 – 20 minutes drive to the ATV park near the western village of San Jose Succotz in Cayo. A short off-road drive off the main highway leads us to the parking site where the real adventure begins.
At site: At the site, the professional and friendly staff will explain the do’s and don’ts with full detailed explanation of how to operate the equipment. You will then embark on an adventurous jungle trail en route to the Macal River. Enjoy the lush Flora & Fauna while you rough it up in the muddy trails which will be sure to bring out that dormant inner child in you.
Be sure to bring a swimsuit for when you get to the Macal River. There you may take a dip if you wish or simply relax by the river bank before heading back to the site. This tour lasts 2 – 3 hours, that’s enough to feel like an ATV pro by the end of the trip.
Depending on your pace (if time permits), your tour leader will allow you to head to clarissa falls, a small village near the Mopan River. Contrary to its’ name, this village has no waterfalls but does have some rapids in the river.
Departure: After enjoying a half day of adventurous rides through the lush jungles of western Belize, you’ll head back to the site where your driver/ guide will be awaiting to transfer you to your hotel in San Ignacio or to your next adventure. This tour may be combined with Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, among others.
